Humming is commonly heard from the huacaya and suri Alpacas at Hum Sweet Hum. Working with and around the animals often creates a sense of security and establishes trust. I build on this trust by teaching them to respond with positive reinforcement, or "clicker training."

What a great way to make use of a few acres – raising adorable creatures that are soft and cuddly and don’t annoy your neighbors. And of course they can be quite profitable!

Alpacas are very hardy and easy to care for. We were nervous at first adding this to our already busy schedule of full-time jobs and travel – but at Applegate Hills Alpacas we have found that the few extra chores are well-worth the effort. And we have met so many wonderful people along the way!

RidgeView Alpacasis a small farm just West of Eugene Oregon, dedicated to the care and breeding of both Suri and Huacaya Alpacas. The farm was started in the year 2000, and we currently have 21 alpacas.

We provide only top quality care for our animals, and constantly strive to improve the quality of our crias and their fiber by breeding only to the best studs available.
